Bank Account opening is still a massive challenge in 2024 for disruptive firms coming to play in the #Web3 space. Yesterday, our Managing Director for APAC, Omar Mansur, joined esteemed banking thought leaders at a Banking Roundtable organized by D2A2 at Dubai Chambers. The event focused on the challenges faced by Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) and the innovative solutions that banks and FinTechs can deliver to address these issues. Omar Mansur participated in a panel discussion on account opening requirements for Web3 startups. The panel delved into the stringent documentation and compliance measures banks require from these startups, the impact of anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulations on this process, and the trust issues and perceived risks associated with digital assets in the banking sector.
